SATURDAY,APRIL 4th, AT 8:00 PM EST ON WWW.FACEBOOK.COM/AXEMASTEROFFICIAL
During this time where almost everything is shut down in response to covid-19, and people are either urged or required to stay at home, there's practically nothing interesting and entertaining to do outside the house, and obviously no live metal shows. With that in mind, and since Axemaster won't be getting together to rehearse till things simmer down, Joe Sims is gonna get on Facebook Live and jam to Axe tunes from "Crawling Chaos"…
Axemaster's first demo to be re-released on vinyl!!!!
Joe Sims here with news aside from the new Axemaster album. A couple months ago I received a very cool and very unexpected opportunity: Luca of Flynn Records from Italy contacted me asking if I would give him permission to re-release the first Axemaster demo "Slave to the Blade" on vinyl. That was a total no-brainer for me, hell yeah!!!!! I just received the masters of all the songs from the original tape from Luigi of LRS Mastering Studio in Rome, and the songs DEFINITELY sound a whole lot better than they do on the cassette. To be honest, the sound and mixes of the originals had something to be desired by professional standards, some songs sound fairly good; and others are kind of ehhhhhh LOL! But after all, it's a self-released demo from 1985!!!! There's only so much anyone can do to fix mixes in mastering, but Luigi definitely did as good of a job as was possible and, especially for a demo, the songs now actually sound pretty damned good. Luca is now starting to put together the album cover graphics, I will let everyone know when tne record is finished and there is a release date. Flynn is only going to print a limited number of copies of the album, probably only 150-200, it will be considered a collectable. So anyone wanting a copy will need to contact Luca as soon as possible after the album release!

New album update 2
Joe Sims here. I know it's been a long time since our last album update while we were adding Craig and Scott, getting the band tight, and playing shows; but that doesn't mean that work hasn't been done! Actually, we've made quite a bit of progress. I have totally finished recording and editing all my guitar tracks for the album and Chris and Craig are almost ready to record drums and bass. I don't have the capability to record drums, and since they both want to hear the other when they record, they're doing all their tracks together at Mindfield Recording and Mixing in Kent, Ohio, under the direction of expert producer/engineer/studio owner Andy Sartain (please see the link below). Since Craig and Chris had/have to learn 12 songs and an intro totally from scratch, we decided to split the songs into 2 different sessions. When we go in, they're doing the first 6 so they can 100% concentrate on those. After that, we'll work on the remaining tracks and get them ready to record. Plus, it'll allow me to get half of their tracks much sooner, so I can get going on editing and mixing much sooner than if they had to learn and record the songs all in one chunk.
I'll be posting new updates and I won't wait so long this time!!!!!

New Axemaster album update #1.....
Joe Sims here! During all the downtime most people have faced (especially musicians!!!) due to the Covid 19 pandemic, I was dedicating all my time and energy to writing, arranging, and recording new demos of potential songs for a new album. Now, I'm finally finished!!!! I've gotten together all the music for 12 songs and a cool intro that I think have the potential to make up one totally kick ass album!
Former Axemaster drummer (who played on "Crawling Chaos"), Denny Archer, is going to be doing drums for the album. He's been working on the first 4 tunes, him and I are gonna start working on everything together very soon and hopefully start recording soon after. That will be the start of a long road of mega work for me since, other than recording the drums using Denny's gear at his place, I will be doing all the recording, editing, mixing, and mastering at my studio: Chamber Studio.
One extra reason that I'm really psyched to get going on the next phases of producing our new album is that Chamber Studio is in the process of getting a major facelift. Thanks to our singer Geoff McGraw, I'll now be working with a new interface and a beast of a computer which are MAJOR upgrades over what I used when I totally produced "Overture to Madness" and recorded/edited most of the tracks for "Crawling Chaos", and Denny now has totally professional recording gear so I'll be getting great sounding drum tracks (which surely wasn't the case for "Overture"). So this is gonna be fun!!!!!!
